can't figure out why this keeps crashing

This is the error I get when finding the index.dat files:

"Index Dat Spy Application has stopped working"

There are two options: "Check online for a solution and close the program" (all it does is close the program and doesn't check online for a solution), and; Close the program

Clicking on "View problem details" gives this below (could be useful to you hopefully):

There was a 1,000 character limit on my initial post, but what I did to try and resolve this was two things:

Ran latest Revo to completely uninstall and reinstall and also used latest CCleaner to clean out the registry.

Despite this, still got the same error.

I already ran SFC to repair core files in Vista Business SP2 for another issue a few weeks back, so my core Windows files should all be in good shape.

I suspect a misbehaving DLL file somewhere.
