Please help, nothing appears

Postby nelida » Sun Jun 11, 2006 8:42 pm

I am using an unregistered version (but would being willing to pay for a regisition if I could get it to work) of Private Eye on my home computer. Nothing appears in the dialog box/entry tree. I also tried using the the index eye as well, with the same results.

I have disabled norton and lavasoft, still nothing appears. PLEASE PLEASE HELP. I think someone has accessed my computer.

PLEASE ADVISE

What version of Windows are you using? And what version of Internet Explorer do you have installed?

If it is a fairly new computer and you have not enabled the AutoComplete feature of Internet Explorer, it is quite possible that there is nothing in Protected Storage. If this is the case, then the left hand window would be blank.

You say that you're using Windows XP Home. But what version of IE are you using? Private Eye was developed and tested with IE 6.x and earlier. I'm not sure if IE 7.x changed the way it stores such entries, though it's certainly possible. Especially if someone at Microsoft came across Private Eye! :D
