Can you just copy the "\program files\cleanup" dir

Postby mwahahaha » Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:42 am

Hi there,

Big fan of cleanup and I'd like to use it via a script every night on my network. Just looking at ways to deploy it to all the desktop machines.

Can I just copy the contents of the c:\program files\cleanup!\ directory to all the machines or does cleanup also install things elsewhere (Registry etc)

Any other ways anyone can recommend?

Cheers!

If you want to copy CleanUp! in this way, see the FAQ about copying CleanUp! to a floppy disk.

Alternatively you could install it - using the same approach - on a network drive accessible by all machines. Note that provided you are comfortable with the defaults then there is no need to copy/create any particular registry entries either.

As for scripting CleanUp! be sure to go to the command prompt, change to the directory containing cleanup.exe and type:

Code: Select all
cleanup -help

to see the available options. (There are only a few, but you're probably interested in the /AutoRun option.)

See the following FAQs:
